Questions to ask a new janitorial company

These are the most important 4 questions you should ask the janitorial cleaning companies you are considering to work with.  Generally most people try getting 3 cleaning quotes which is good, but in our experience very few companies get past the first 2 questions.

Be weary of the lowest price… It could mean they cut corners to win the bid

It’s easy to think all office cleaning companies are the same and that your explanation of your cleaning requests will be automatically understood, but unfortunately some companies cut corners to reduce cost at the sake of your cleaning needs.  Carefully review the scope of work or service schedule.

Make sure your quote includes a custom cleaning checklist

Our advice is to be weary of the cleaning companies that don’t customize your proposal and demonstrate what you’re asking for in their scope of work.  No office or facility is the same, and while many of the basics are found everywhere you should expect specific attention to details

Generic quotes lead to generic cleaning

If you’re getting a generic quote there could be problems just after you begin service where your expectations aren’t being delivered because “that’s not in the quote.” Questions about your specific cleaning needs are vital. If you believe there should have been more questions asked to understand your cleaning needs than you might be going into an agreement on a different page than your cleaning company.

How does your commercial cleaning company solve issues?

In the thousands of janitorial service quotes we have delivered in recent years we can probably count on one hand the amount of people who have asked what our issue response and correction process will be like.  This might be the most important aspect of the cleaning company you work with. If they don’t answer your call or respond to your email in a timely manner then you’re left with a dirty office, and no one helping you get it cleaned.

Helpful communication is critical, so make sure the office staff is easy to work with

It is very important to understand how your cleaning company operates, and how they will help you when, NOT IF, issues happen.  A polite and timely response with a quick solution is much more enjoyable than a cleaning company who doesn’t respond for days while the dirt piles up.
